Principles of Knitting by June Hemmons Hiatt: Back in Print!

Now and again, like most profoundly obsessed hard-core knitters, I head over to Ebay to check the current bids for June Hemmons Hiatt's cult classic The Principles of Knitting, or the second hand price on Amazon, then lament the fact that even if I were able to take delivery here in Mexico, I don't know where I'd come up with $250 snaps for the out of print tome. I console myself by doing a desultory search of the Simon and Schuster website, hoping for news of a reprint, holding out hope that that email that circulated a couple of years back was true and not a knitting version of the Bill-Gates-wants-to-give-you-a-million-dollars hoax.

So naturally I was puzzled when I saw that Amazon seller prices for the book had plummeted to 64 bucks. Could it be....? You betcha! The long awaited reprint is available for sale, and at the deliciously low price of $29.10 (hardcover!) with free Super Saver shipping, woot woot! Guess whose getting a copy on her next trip to the US?

Just one more request, Simon and Schuster: it's pretty expensive to travel with books in tow these days. When are you getting around to publishing a Kindle edition?
